Ms Bligh released the pledge whilst on the campaign trail at Mount Isa's The Buffs Club yesterday.
The project will include the construction of a new $500,000 rest area on the Dajarra-Mount Isa Road as well as upgrades to the rest area on the Diamantina Road.
The Premier said the upgrades would make road travel safer.
"People in this part of the world travel a lot on their roads so the state of their roads matter," she said.
Money will also be allocated to fit new guideposts on the Eyre Development Road.
