Despite a huge 16.2 per cent swing against Mr Katter, he will retain the now marginal seat thanks to Labor preferences.
The LNP called for recount of votes due to confusion surrounding scrutineering at a number of booths in the electorate.
Yesterday, Mrs Ikin had attracted 31, 182 first preference votes. Mr Katter had 22, 006 first preference votes.
In the two-party preferred count, Mrs Ikin had 34, 412 votes compared to Mr Katter’s 37, 483, equating to a swing of 16.2 per cent.
