Already in the stockpile are newsletters and magazines from throughout the community, a North West study report, a few photographs, copies of The North West Star , a screen-printed silk scarf made by a local artist, a handmade wooden box with a secret inside and a poem written by well-known Mount Isa man Chick Williams, who passed away in recent weeks.
Submissions can be dropped off to Alisha Dean at the Mount Isa City Council, or if you are not sure if it would be appropriate, you can contact Ms Dean through email, phone or the council's Facebook page.
The capsule will be buried during the Australia Day ceremony and opened in 2023 for the city's centennial celebrations.
