But when outback showman Mr Brophy was asked to help promote a bra collection to raise money for cancer research, he didn’t pull any punches.
Getting two of his better-known brawlers – Beaver and White Lightning – Fred and his crew helped set up the bras on the floor of the ring, dust and all.
Mount Isa co-ordinator for the World’s Longest Bra Chain, Sue Wicks, was touched by the lengths Brophy’s boxers went to.
“Fred put on his red silk shirt, called in two of his best boxers, and helped us set up. The end result shows the true heart of this showman.’’
The World’s Longest Bra Chain collection will close on Monday.
Bras with a $2 contribution to cancer research can be left at Curves Gym, Outback at Isa, Brogdens and the Webb Street Post Office and Gift Shop.
