The app allows players to virtually travel around Queensland and use palaeontology tools to dig through millions of years of rock to unearth the fossilised remains of 38 dinosaurs, marine reptiles and megafauna. The tool maps Outback Queensland’s fossil hot spots, as well as the tourism operators offering dinosaur experiences.
Queensland Museum Network CEO and Director Professor Suzanne Miller said the app was based on authentic materials, including imagery of reconstructions from Queensland Museum’s fossil collection and showed just how much Queensland has changed over millions of years.
“Dinosaurs have long been a source of awe. They are where science and imagination meet, and they raise seemingly endless questions about how they lived, what they ate, and how they moved, sounded and looked,” Professor Miller said
