People can begin planning their Commonwealth Games Queen’s Baton Relay experience with the street-level detail and community celebrations now available to explore.

The baton arrives in the North West on March 6 landing in Mount Isa airport before joining in “the Royal Flying Doctor Service 90 year anniversary celebrations by flying an iconic RFDS leg from Mount Isa to Cloncurry.”
The baton arrives in Cloncurry after 9.30am and according to the map the relay starts in Daintree St.
There are 12 baton relayers in Cloncurry and they will take the baton down east along Daintree St, north into King St, west into Ham St with a detour into St Joseph’s Catholic School before heading south along Sheaffe St and then east at the roundabout to Sheaffe St.
It will go all the way to Station St then south to the highway, scheduled to end on Ramsay St (Barkly Hwy).
There is a community event planned for the Cloncurry Community Precinct.
The Baton arrives back in Mount Isa later that day with 44 people scheduled to carry the baton through town.
It begins its journey at the Spinifex/TAFE campus on Abel Smith Pde.
From there it heads south to the highway and left onto Marian St.
It turns left again into Kookaburra St and right into Clarke St before going left into East St.
From there it heads south to Thomson Rd where it turns right down to the Duchess Rd past Alec Inch Oval
It turns left at Duchess Rd, then right over the river to 23rd Ave. It turns right into Fourth Ave then left into Fifth Ave.
The relay appears to end at this point before being picked up at the Family Fun Park.
It heads east over the Isa St bridge down to Woolies and then left into Camooweal St.
There is then a left into Rodeo Dr, a right into West, past the Civic Centre before turning right onto Marian St.
It heads down the highway before a right into Simpson St and continues until ending at Buchanan Park.
A community celebration ends the day at the Entertainment Centre at 5.30pm.
