A 26-year-old man appeared in Mount Isa Magistrates Court this morning, in regards to a suspicious death of a 40-year-old Happy Valley man yesterday.
The Mount Isa Magistrates Court heard the mention of Regan Lee Tamati who was charged with unlawful striking causing death.
Tamati’s case has been adjourned to March 5 for a committal mention.
December 17, 11pm:
Mount Isa detectives have tonight charged a man over the death of a 40-year-old Happy Valley man.
A 26-year-old Happy Valley man has been charged with unlawful striking causing death and is due to appear in the Mount Isa Magistrates Court tomorrow morning (Monday, December 18).
EARLIER:
Mount Isa police investigating the death of a man at Happy Valley this morning (December 17) are treating his death as suspicious.
Police and emergency services were called to an Emerald Street home just before 4am where a 40-year-old man was found unconscious.
CPR was performed on the man however he was pronounced deceased at the scene.
A crime scene has been declared with police including uniformed officers, Mount Isa detectives and Scenes of Crime officers currently at the house.
Two people, alleged family members, are assisting police with their inquiries.
There is no further information available at this time and investigations are continuing.
