Dirt N Dust organisers are pleased with the way this year’s festival went despite a noticeable downturn in numbers from 2017.

“We had a lot of phone calls from people on the coast asking us if the roads were closed, I’m not sure if they watched all of the weather reports,” festival president Stephen Malone said.

“We try to explain to them it might be raining down the coast but it’s not raining here.”

Mr Malone said the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games also had an impact as had the upcoming Way Out West festival. “We’ve got Winton next weekend which is going to be huge,” he said.

“I think a lot of people who had done Dirt N Dust have had a year off to do Winton and come back, we’re fine with that.”

Next year is the 25th anniversary of Dirt N Dust.
