Ms Tapp grew up in Cloncurry and has attended the Cloncurry and District Show throughout her life.
“I’m a born and bred local,” Ms Tapp said.
“My parents have always been heavily involved in the show so I thought this year I should step out of my comfort zone and get involved with the show and the community,” she said.
The opportunity to empower woman within the community was a strong pull in Ms Tapp’s decision to become an entrant this year.
“I wanted to be a part of something that helps empower young people and to help our community grow stronger.”
Ms Tapp hopes The Queensland Country Life Miss Showgirl competition will enable her to build confidence and self-esteem within the community and among this year’s entrants.
I want to be a good ambassador for the Cloncurry show because its a wonderful event.
