The constitutional monarchist is well known around town for his dedication and admiration for the Crown.
Mr Byrne hosted his annual morning tea at the library on Monday morning to celebrate the 92nd birthday of Queen Elizabeth II.
“Her real birthday is on April 21, however official public birthday celebrations happen in June,” Mr Byrne said.
The celebration also recognised the Queen’s 65th coronation anniversary which took place on the June 2,1953.
“I think she has done a wonderful job, she has given her whole life to public service,” Mr Byrne said.
“The institution of the Crown continues to play an important role in our constitutional, parliamentary and judicial systems.”
Mr Byrne said he would be sending correspondence to the Palace to mark the celebration of the Queen’s birthday.
