The Highlands Project is located 50km north east of Mount Isa.
It straddles a major geological boundary between the Kalkadoon-Leichhardt Domain to the west and the Eastern Domain to the east separated by the regional-scale Mt Remarkable and Gorge Creek Faults.
Minotaur’s inital ground work culminated in electromagnetic (EM) surveys at Gospel and Coolibah.
Those surveys confirmed strong conductors at both Gospel and Coolibah.
Rock chip samples collected along the fault zone contain highly elevated copper to 16.9 per cent, gold to 1.6g/t, silver to 7.6 g/t and cobalt to 454ppm.
This geochemical association shows strong similarities with the nearby Barbara Deposit.
Three reverse circulation drill holes are planned to test the Gospel conductor and initial drilling at Coolibah will comprise of two holes
Three drill holes are planned to test the Gospel conductor, targeting Iron Sulphide Copper Gold (ISCG) style mineralisation.
One hole will test the strongest and shallowest part of the EM conductor; the other two holes are targeting the interpreted fexure in the fault down plunge.
RC drilling at each target is expected to start later this month.
