The funds for the $500 ear irrigator were raised through the regular Saturday afternoon Bingo sessions held at the Karumba Lodge from February through to November.
They attract about 20 locals, but numbers swell to 50 during the tourist season.
Organiser Bernadette Nolan said they have a lot of fun at the Bingo sessions, but the atmosphere turns more serious when the tourists are there, as they take their Bingo very seriously.
“We get told to shush!” Ms Nolan said.
Gulf Bingo donates to a number of organisations, including Volunteer Marine Rescue, Rural Fire, schools, Cancer Day, and Kids Christmas Tree events.
The Director of Nursing at Karumba, Hannah Dawes, said the electronic equipment is a real boost for the Clinic as this new model helps to control the pressure, and is much easier to use than the old syringes.
“And a big plus is that we can treat our patients here if they need their ears syringed,” Ms Dawes said.
