There are unconfirmed reports a person has been swept away in the Leichhardt River, following a downpour of rain in the region today.
Queensland Police called in the incident at 8.40pm and are currently searching the area with the Queensland Fire and Emergency Services, Mount Isa SES and Queensland Ambulance.
A QFES spokesperson said there were currently six water crews and auxiliary fire fighters on the scene with Mount Isa SES suppling flood boats and lighting towers for the search.
Search crews are currently stationed at Twenty-Third Avenue crossing and Isa Street crossing.
As of 10.03pm Mount Isa had received 51.8mm since 9am and was still raining heavily at the time of writing.
