The rain was welcomed with a cooling of the temperatures with a maximum of 31 expected today.
There was 2.2mm recorded in the Mount Isa airport gauge from 3.30am this morning and it was still sprinkling at the time of writing.
It was the first rainfall since 17.4mm on March 24.
There was 1.4mm in Camooweal but none in Cloncurry.
The rest of the day will remain cloudy with more chance of rain.
Medium (40%) chance of showers or light rain at times early this morning and there is also the chance of a thunderstorm this morning.
Sadly that's it for rain on the horizon will sunny weather returning tomorrow for the rest of the week.
