A Council spokesperson said they would convert the unused gravel medians in Mary St, between West St and Miles St and between Miles St and Camooweal St, to sealed parking.
"The works are valued at about $37,000 and will involve the removal of a large portion of the existing raised centre gravel median and kerb, levelling and treating the surface to match in with the surrounding road and carpark finished levels, and resealing using a two-coat bitumen seal," A Council spokesperson said.
"The conversion of the unused medians will provide an additional needed 30 car parking spaces for the area between West St and Miles St, and an additional 12 car parking spaces between Camooweal St and Miles St."
Works are expected to take about two weeks to complete and minor traffic disruption may occur during the works.
