Early voting has started in Mount Isa ahead of the Queensland local government elections on March 28.

Early voting started Monday, March 16 and generally open from 9am to 5pm during the first week of early voting, and from 9am to 6pm during the second week of early voting.
In Mount Isa pre-poll is at the Civic Centre at 23 West St.
Voting booths on election day are Spinifex Senior Campus (Abel Smith Pde), Sunset State School, Barkly Hwy State School, Happy Valley State School, Healy State School and Central State School.
In the smaller councils pre-polls will not open until next week.
In Cloncurry pre-poll is at the Shire Hall next week with on the day voting at the state school.

Richmond and Burke Shires are postal ballot only.
The Electoral Commission Qld say they have implemented extra measures at pre-poll booths due to the COVID-19 virus including additional supplies of hand sanitiser for use by voters at polling booths.
