It follows a maximum temperature of 36 degrees on Monday as a weak high pressure system over southeast Australia extends a ridge over western Queensland.
Temperatures have been above 35 degrees in the Isa every day since last Monday.
The hot and sunny weather will continue to Wednesday and Thursday with more tops of 36 forecast before it cools down slightly to 35 on Friday and then 34 on the weekend.
It is even hotter in the Gulf with temperatures reaching 38 degrees in Normanton, Burketown and Doomadgee today and tomorrow.
There is zero chance of any rain in the forecast period.
As of April 17 Lake Moondarra was at 86.85% capacity while Lake Julius was at 96.22%.
