Known only as "Rebecca" this local mum of four revealed she regularly texted her hubby pretending to be the landlord to scare him into cleaning - and it works every time.
The story was posted on the kidspot.com.au blog site which found it on a Facebook group.
In it Rebecca revealed "the biggest secret of my life and also my best cleaning 'hack' if you have a husband like mine who is great but not very helpful around the house."
Rebecca said she was at her wit's end trying to get him to help mostly with yard jobs she struggled to do.
"I went and got a cheap mobile phone and saved the number under 'Landlord' so every time I want something done I text myself that they are coming to check, fix or need access to something so my hubby does the chore I want done,' Rebecca.
Rebecca said this "hack" has worked a charm for three years.
"I use it when I want my husband to clean or tidy the yard or cut the grass I once even used to get him to move furniture around outside," she told Kidspot.
"He's a great dad who spends a lot of time with the kids, but he just isn't that handy and helpful with the house which is mostly fine. We're both a bit old school - he works, I get to be a stay-at -home mum, so he comes home to an immaculate home, kids bathed and fed and ready for bed."
The story was picked up by top-selling British tabloid The Sun which described her as a "cheeky mum".
