The recently London-listed company has two targets at the Gunpowder site 150km north-west of Mount Isa, called Big One Deposit and Arya Prospect
Castillo told the ASX their geology team conducted a pre-site visit to the Mt Oxide Project where they identified a prominent shear zone, surface outcrop and visible copper mineralisation.
The inaugural drilling campaign at Mt Oxide is also scheduled to commence soon.
Castillo said their London listing has raised sufficient funds to rapidly expand exploration activities across tier one assets with the priorities Big One Deposit and Arya Prospect.
At Big One Deposit they noted a prominent shear zone and surface outcrop with visible copper mineralisation and confirmed the location of three pits with visible copper mineralisation
The upcoming drilling campaign will test for potential shallow copper mineralisation and potential massive sulphides at depth.
They will advise the timeline once they appoint a drilling contractor with the tender evaluation process nearing completion.
Simon Paull, Managing Director of Castillo Copper, said, the drilling campaign would be a pivotal moment for Castillo.
"Our objective is to extend known high-grade copper mineralisation at the Big One Deposit and test drill the enormous 130m thick interpreted potential massive sulphide target at the Arya Prospect," Mr Paull said.
"Thereafter, the focus shifts to eight additional prospects within the Mt Oxide project, which reflects the substantial exploration upside this asset delivers."
