Mount Isa Rock Hunter is seeking volunteers to help paint and distribute rocks in hidden locations around town.
Rock Hunters started in Mount Isa two years ago by Christine Johnstone, as part of a world-wide scavenger hunt movement.
Ms Johnstone said it was great to see families getting involved, however more volunteers were needed to paint rocks.
"The idea is you paint a rock and put it somewhere around town for someone else to find," she said.
"Once someone has found it, they have the option to hide the rock again or keep it. We have a Facebook page where people can share a picture if they've located one and give clues to where they have hidden one."
Ms Johnstone said at the moment she was the only one painting rocks.
"There are plenty of people finding the rocks but I'm the only one painting them," she said.
"I would love it for more people to get involved, even for the kids to get involved and paint them too.
"It's just fun a bit of fun for the kids. My kids pick up rocks no matter what, and it's just fun for them to find and hide them around town."
Ms Johnstone said Mount Isa Rock Hunters was created two years ago, following a family holiday.
"When we were on holidays and found a painted rock and saw on the back there was a Facebook page, so we checked to see if Mount Isa had a group and it didn't, so we started one," she said.
"The response from community participating has been great and we have 270 people on our Facebook page.
"If anyone is interested in volunteering or joining the hunt, jump on the page."
