Robbie Katter is expected to comfortably hold his seat though the election itself is on a knife-edge and Mr Katter and his party will be hoping to grab the balance of power.
In the last week the KAP called for a payroll tax holiday for the beleaguered tourism sector while Labor were promising invest $50 million to slash irrigation water bills across the state saying Irrigation water costs for thousands of Queensland farmers would be cut by up to 50 per cent.
LNP candidate Marnie Smith was calling for a 24-hour ambulance service in Richmond.
Independent Craig Scriven said he was well versed in 99% of the region's industry's and businesses and he was willing to deal for the benefit of the electorate, and the betterment of the state.
The six candidates in Traeger in ballot order are 1 James Bambrick (ALP) 2 Kristian Horvath (Greens) 3 Robbie Katter (KAP) 4 Marnie Smith (LNP) 5 Phillip Collins (UAP) and 6 Craig Scriven (Ind).
If you haven't already taken advantage of early voting, on Saturday you can vote from 8am to 6pm with six school locations across Mount Isa (Happy Valley, Spinifex High, Sunset, Barkly Hwy, Central and Healy) and many other places across the electorate.
