After some big localised falls on Australia Day it will be partly cloudy in Mount Isa on Wednesday with a medium (40%) chance of showers, most likely later in the day with the chance of thunderstorms.

Wednesday is the best chance of rain in the forecast period with the chance dropping to 10-20% for the rest of the week and the maximum temperatures climbing to 40 degrees as mostly sunny conditions return.
Max temps will soar back to 41 by next Tuesday.
In the official gauge Mount Isa received only 6mm on Tuesday but there were reports of localised heavier falls with two big storms hitting the city one in the early afternoon and one much later in the afternoon.
Cloncurry also had 6.2mm on their Australia Day, Camooweal had 3.0mm Julia Creek had just 0.8mm
Up in the Gulf they are preparing for possible Cyclone Lucas arriving on Thursday though neither Normanton nor Mornington Island received any rain on Tuesday.
Lake Moondarra is 68.90% full while Lake Julius is at 99.99%.
