Footy fever gripped the Gulf on July 9, and patrons who joined the Cancer Cuppa committee and volunteers at the Sunset Tavern for a day of raffles, games and entertainment dug deep.
Special guest Carl Webb, a former State of Origin and NRL player, was on site to watch Queensland smash the Blues 32-8 that evening.
Karumba Cancer Cuppa committee member John Moran said he was very proud of the event’s contribution to the Cancer Council.
“This now takes the total amount to around $230,000,
which the event has generated since it started back in 1998,” he said.
“Again, we give our heartfelt thanks to all our dedicated sponsors, supporters, volunteers and the public who turn up year in and year out every year.”
