The show is on Friday, June 22 and Saturday, June 23. Gates open at 8am on both days.
As always there will be fabulous roving entertainers, sideshow alley, a petting zoo, lots of stalls showcasing their products; along with fairy floss, plenty of food choices and showbags.
But that’s not all. With almost all the entertainment new to the show this year, there is sure to be something for everyone.

Start your day at the pavilion which will be full to the brim with entries from residents in the photography, handicraft, cooking, sewing and quilting, horticulture, woodworking and even collectable exhibitions.
According to Mount Isa Show secretary, Virginia Hills, the pavilion is a must stop for everyone to come and see if they have won any prizes and who the grand champions are.
The pavilion will also have vendors selling all different kinds of products.
“We’re going to have quite a few stalls and food flavours available this year, with everything from baked potatoes to wood-fired pizzas, with quite a few new vendors that we’ve never had before,” Virginia said.
“This year we have the Salami Shack with all different sorts of salamis, like crocodile salami, buffalo, venison and normal salamis as well.”
All of the schools will have their display sites up, so come along to see your child's work or learn how to enrol your children for next year.
Phil Kemp promises to bring a massive display of Lego to the pavilion this year.
“He makes Lego pieces from trucks, to planes, to buildings such as the Eiffel Tower,” Virginia said. “Some of them even have moving parts and lights, the kids just love the Lego display.”
On the first grassed area this year there is going to be the Mount Isa Strongman competition.
Strongman organiser Scott Jones said there will be around 20 competitors going head to head for the Mount Isa Strongman and Strongwoman title at the show this year.
There will be plenty of events from truck pulls to heavy lifting to thrill spectators.
The open category winners will gain a pass to the Arnold Australian Amateur Strongman competition.
Aaron Scarborough from the Arnold Strongman committee has provided the Mount Isa Strongman competition with two invitations to the 2019 Arnold Amateur Strongman contest to be held on March 3-4, 2019 in Melbourne.
“At the other side of the pavilion we've got some new entertainers coming through this year,” Virginia said.
The new petting zoo will take place under a circus marquee with plenty of shade for the kids to while away time patting ducklings, guinea pigs, lambs, baby goats and piglets, just to name a few.
“The kids can come in and feed various animals and the thoroughbred racing pigs will be there as well,” Virginia said.
This year’s professional thoroughbred racing pigs are also new. Watch the pigs race around an obstacle course for the ultimate prize - a bowl of milk.
Get in early for the chance to name a pig for the race.
Bob from Troppo Magic will be doing a standalone magic and comedy show and will also be roaming around with balloons.
Watch the Blacksmith work his magic over the two days of the show. He has a forge and will be showing people what it's like to do blacksmith work.
The camp oven cooking display will be teaching spectators how to cook a variety of dishes, from damper to custard, using a camp oven on heat beads.
Hands on Wildlife will be bringing snakes and other reptiles from the region to the show to educate people on the snakes they see in their backyards, and whether they are dangerous.
The LifeFlight helicopter will be coming to the show at 10am on Friday.
Because the helicopter is so big it has been pushed to the back end of the arena, so keep a look out for it behind sideshow alley and ask if you can have a sit in it.
Stilt walkers in amazing costumes will be roaming around the crowd to entertain all. All inclusive in your ticket, you can also take part in laser tag, just stand in line, grab your equipment and off you go.
A Mount Isa favourite, Bubble Muffin, is returning to the show this year with his kids cooking class.
A lot of fun, the class will have plenty of information on how kids can make quick and healthy foods.
There will also be face painting and train rides. Another favourite is back with the Mount Isa Show horse events.
Come and see horse and rider work together over two days, with everything from a gymkhana to dressage to led events.
The Australian Bronco Branding will take place on Saturday from 8am-4pm in the Kalkadoon Rodeo Arena.
Watch as steers and weaners are corralled up, roped and painted, as part of a fun competition. “It would be great if we could get some more people there to understand how they used branding to tag their stock many years ago and in some instances some properties still use today," Virginia said.
The official opening will take place on the main stage at 11.30am on Friday with the deputy mayor opening the show.
The Tiny Tots aged from 0-13 will be doing a parade in conjunction with the Cloncurry Miss Showgirl.
A couple of different dance groups from around town will be getting up in front of the stage and doing some dancing and Sabella from Six Foot Circus will be doing some aerial acrobatics.
“This year, thanks to a donation from the Mount Isa Music Festival Committee, various artists from The Shack are going to be playing on the stage over the weekend,” Virginia said.
Each night The Buffs Club Mount Isa Professional Bull Ride (PBR) opens at 6pm, topped off with the after party until midnight.
The PBR is included in your entry fee and is touted as the toughest sport on dirt.
Singing the national anthem this year is Kate and the choir from Outback School of the Arts.
This year the Buffs Club will also be having a cheese and wine tent. “In previous years you haven’t been able to buy wine at the PBR, but this year you will be able to,” Virginia said, “And that will be able to go hand in hand with a cheese plate.”
On Friday night kids on their dirt bikes will be tearing up the rodeo arena for 20 minutes before the start of PBR. “It's always a bit of fun to see them going round and round,” Virginia said.
Both nights will end with Golden Guitar winner Brad Butcher.
Brad and his band will entertain you with a great repertoire of his owns songs, mixed in with some Elvis, Johnny Cash and even some Eagles. “It’s always a good night, people love it, and to know that it's going to be topped off by Brad Butcher is going to be amazing,” Virginia said.
The Saturday night fireworks are another not-to-be-missed event.
Tickets are $25 adult and $10 per child or pensioner. Family and weekend passes are also available.
