An increasing amount of South 32 trucks will continue to travel along north west highways while flood repair works are carried out on Queensland Rail infrastructure.
Cannington Mine will be moving its product from its mine site near McKinlay to its berth at the Port of Townsville until mid-may 2019 or until the rail line is restored.
Announcing in a fact sheet, South 32 said it would be a combination of trucks hauling half height containers and bulk haulage trucks.
"Approved routes are being used; along the Toolebuc-McKinlay Road, Landsborough Highway and Flinders Highway.
"Some of our heavy vehicles will be carting three to four carriages, so sharing the road safety with you is of utmost importance to us.
"We would like to thank local residents and visitors to the area for their patience on the roads during this time."
