After being widely affected by the North West flood in February, determined committee members have been working hard to organise the annual Julia Creek Campdraft.

With more then 650,000 head in cattle losses across the North West, Julia Creek Campdraft committee have sourced generous donations to host their annual draft on May 17-19.
Club president Brett Hick said he didn't think there would be any chance of the campdraft going ahead this year.
"It is probably all due to Marcus Curr behind the reason we are actually having one," Mr Hick said.
"Marcus rung up when it was still wet to see what was happening with the draft and I told him it was the last thing on my mind.
"He said we need to have one, and he organised some cattle for us.
"I think any event in the region is great, it is an opportunity to bring all the country people to town."
Mr Hick said the committee had received an overwhelming amount of support through nominations.
"We have received 1300 first round nominations so it is going to be a big three days," he said.
"This year's event is expected to be a bit bigger then normal.
"Wherever there is a truck and a bitumen road, people travel from far and wide to attend our event.
"People travel from as far as Greenvale, Tennant Creek, Blackall, Normanton and of course our local competitors."
Mr Hick said the sport of campdrafting was consistently growing and attracted many competitors both young and old.
"It is a family sport where mum, dad and the kids can all compete and of course there is also the competition side of things, there are some very serious competitors," he said.
"Campdrafting is also the entertainment for some people's social season. Drafts bring the country people together so it is a great opportunity to catch up with friends."
Friday will kick off with the Maiden Draft, Futurity Draft, Novice Draft, Maiden Final and Novice Final.
Saturday will start early with the Open Draft, Mini, Junior and Juvenile drafts, Maiden for Maiden Draft and Final, Open Final and Restricted Open Draft.
Sunday will see the Maiden Draft, Novice Draft, Maiden Final, Novice Cut Out, Novice Final and the Horse Sports.
There will be catering all weekend and live entertainment on Friday and Saturday night.
