The Club hosts a barbecue at SOTA twice a year establishing strong bonds with the rural community around the region.
So when it came to donating money to help with flood relief, they spoke to the school who put them in touch with the Isolated Children Parents Association.
The Rotary club donated $17,000 to them and another $3000 to the Salvation Army flying padres.
Rotary president Margaret Bishop said they wanted to help people in the bush doing it tough with floods and drought.
ICPA Cloncurry rep Tara Locke thanked Rotary and said around 50 families would benefit from the funding which would go to day-to-day expenses.
