The Local Leadership Workshop was established by Mitez to establish the thought of leadership, and nurture potential leaders for the future.
Regional Development Officer Ross Thinee said he realised that leadership was often not first and foremost in people's minds and usually thrust on people who are often not exposed or prepared for what came with the territory.
"One point of difference for this workshop was the introduction of local inspirational leaders to provide relevance and help draw from their experiences," Mr Thinee said.
"Mount Isa attendees heard from local inspirational speakers Senior Sargent Renee Hanrahan and Father Mick Lowcock.
"Officer in charge of the Mount Isa Police Station Renee Hanrahan was described by one workshop attendee as one of the best speakers they have ever heard and Father Mick left no dry eyes in his humbling message."
Mr Thinee said Mitez wanted to provide this workshop to regional areas, because travelling to Townsville or Brisbane was both unaffordable and time consuming.
"Feedback from this workshop suggests the model was extremely valuable to a region starved of quality training opportunities," he said.
"In particular a focus on aggression and dispute resolution featured in the positive feedback reports. Public speaking was also well received."
Training was relevant to all levels of leadership, business, volunteer, family, and higher calling such as a shire council level.
