The $2.5m upgrade will transform the civic space to attract more visitors to the area and create a place for the community to come together.
The redevelopment incorporates new amenities, water park and splash-pad, barbecues, playground, skate park, educational cycle area, civic stage, new lighting, water bubblers, seating, wide footpaths and improved green space.
There will also be a series of arbours that will incorporate educational information on Cloncurry's history and key landmarks, with paths and lines of sight directing people through to visit John Flynn Place.
Cloncurry Mayor Greg Campbell said the project aimed to create a community space where people can gather to celebrate civic occasions in an accessible and comfortable outdoor space to enjoy in all seasons.
"Florence Clark Park is located in the central business area of Cloncurry, close to shops and the John Flynn museum," Cr Campbell said.
"The park is a key community space that helps bring the shire together. This space in underutilised and we are hoping this redevelopment inspires people of all ages to enjoy a shady oasis, with diverse facilities that will support active and healthy lifestyles for all ages and abilities."
Glencore's copper assets Australia COO Matt O'Neill said the company targets it support towards initiatives with broad-reaching and long-lasting benefits.
"This project is transforming Florence Clark Park - a central public space in Cloncurry - into a more modern, user-friendly area for locals and visitors of all ages." Mr O'Neill said.
"We conduct a community survey every three years and local residents told us in our 2019 survey that new and improved parks, sport and recreation facilities were their biggest infrastructure priority for Cloncurry."
