After an illustrious banking career which started in a Mount Isa credit union and included a stint as CEO of the Brisbane Broncos, Bruno Cullen has been awarded an AM (Member of the Union) in Monday's Queen's Birthday honours.

He joins fellow Mount Isan Pat Fennell in today's honours list.
Mr Cullen was awarded the AM for "significant service to the banking and credit union sector, to rugby league, and to the community."
Mr Cullen was a goalkicking centre and accountant who joined the Mount Isa Mine Employees' Credit Union in 1977 which underwent many name changes over the years and is now the Queensland Country Bank.
He was CEO from 1989 to 2003 and in April he stepped down from his role as Chair of the Queensland Country Bank Board after 43 years.
In rugby league he played in Mount Isa's first Foley Shield win in 1969 and joined surviving members for a 50 year reunion last year.
From 2003 to 2011 he was the CEO of the Brisbane Broncos and led them to the premiership in 2006.
He stood down as chair of the Broncos in 2014.
Mr Cullen is a director of the Queensland Country Health Fund, CEO of Krause Health and Safety since 2007, a mentor in the Townsville Enterprise Emerging Leaders Program and he was the chair of Queensland Academy of Sport, 2011-2016, and a board member from 2010-2013.
