The community is encouraged to fill out the online survey and visit Council's dedicated information page to get full details of the project while Council is carrying out a letterbox drop to residents on streets adjacent to the southern section of Gallipoli Park, where the proposed development will be, and installed information signs at the park.
Council proposes to install an asphalt pump track, multi-use court, exercise equipment, covered picnic tables, landscaping and beautification.
The dedicated page can be accessed at www.mountisa.qld.gov.au/gallipoli-park
There are also links to the fact sheet and community survey, a Frequently Asked Questions section, and a concept image of the development.
The survey is anticipated to be open until Sunday, September 6.
Mayor Danielle Slade said the public consultation phase was a vital part of the project and residents are being asked to have their say by completing the survey.
"People's feedback will help to contribute to shaping the development and guide Council on decision-making and future planning, so if people have any thoughts or opinions on this project, then I encourage them to visit the Gallipoli Park page and fill out the survey," Cr Slade said.
"Some of the topics covered by the FAQs include what the project proposes, why Gallipoli Park was chosen as the location of the pump track, what security measures have been taken, and what a pump track is."
The $895,000 project is 100 percent funded under the Queensland Government's Active Community Infrastructure Funding Stream.
Cr Peta MacRae, who looks after the Sports and Recreation portfolio, said Council was excited to have received such a significant amount of money to give the young people of Mount Isa a state-of-the-art recreation facility.
"With the global trend of moving away from organised sport, we still need facilities for people to exercise and gain new skills and that is what that project will achieve," Cr MacRae said.
