He replaced former CEO Sharon Ibardolaza who left on October 9.

At its December 9 meeting Council approved two material change of use applications for Industrial Workshops at 5 Engineering Road, Mount Isa.
Council also supported the release of the Draft Principle Pedestrian Network for public consultation and agreed to commence construction of priority works for the $150,000 grant in the 2020/21 financial year on wayfinding signage, shade trees, pedestrian safety improvements on Isa Street (between Camooweal Street and West Street) incorporating a missing link in pathway (south side opposite Woolworths and suggested removal of existing pedestrian crossing near Miles Street, with the installation of two alternative crossings at other locations.
Council has also formed a "100 Years Celebrations" Advisory Committee for Mount Isa's 100 year anniversary jn 2023.
In confidential business Council endorse the Expression of Interest submission for the funding of the 'Mount Isa CBD Safer Speeds Investigation' initiative under the Vulnerable Road User Program administered by the Department of Transport and Main Roads.
One of the recommendations is to reduce the speed limit in the CBD from 50 kph to a lower speed.
Mayor Danielle Slade said they would take advise from experts on the matter but said a benefit of lower speed limits was safety and also the ability to notice more of your surroundings such as open businesses and sales if going at a slower speed.
