Council said the road between Copelin St/Suter Rd and Duchess Rd was a non-gazetted road and they have closed it due to "unsafe operation of motorcycles, quad bikes and other motor vehicles causing disruption to the residents of Healy Heights and the risk of accident or injury."
The road across the Gliderport reserve is closed as of Monday, March 28.
"There will be gated access for Council and Emergency vehicles only," Council said.
"The entry of all other motorised vehicles is prohibited. Contractors will be working in this area from Monday, please refrain from entering the reserve."
It means the only access in and out of Healy Heights is via Wright Rd and Transfield Ave through the suburb of Healy.
Longer term the solution would be to make the dirt road bitumen seal but that has been tied up with the long-promised but never delivered development of the Gliderport estate.
Its stocks have risen and fallen with the boom-bust cycle of the mining industry but in 2021 Council said "there is strong demand for all types of housing, low vacancy rates, as well as appropriate yields on property investment."
