A new mining expo with a difference will take place in Mount Isa in July.
Commerce North West has announced the 2022 North West MPX (Mineral Province eXpo) will be going ahead on July 12 and 14 at the Civic Centre.
The new event has grown out of MineX and will feature a conference component as well as a mining expo.
Commerce North West said this new event offering a combination of an expo and a conference would bring together representatives from mines across the region to allow them to exchange news and ideas for the benefit of all and businesses with booths at the North West MPX will benefit from havingaccess to a wide range of people from across the industry.
Event Manager for North West MPX Emma Harman said the North West Minerals Province was a diverse, rich and vibrant region of Queensland boasting long term highly successful mines and many new and exciting exploration projects.
"Traditional metals such as copper lead zinc gold and silver are still going strong, while other new rare earth metals such as vanadium are also being mined locally," Ms Harman said.
"There is much discussion about the future of energy delivery for the region with projects such as Copper String 2.0 and renewable energy generators also seeking a place in the market.
"All this activity takes place in a deeply agricultural area with ongoing cattle farming and emerging cotton and other cropping farms also growing in strength. With so much going on in the region it was important to create an event that better met the needs of those in the mining and resource sector."
Conference tickets and sponsorships which include exhibition booths, will go on sale shortly available at the website www.northwestmpx.com.au.
