The stage was set for a Queensland vs New South Wales State of Origin showdown on the My Kitchen Rules grand finale tonight, with Poms Will Stewart and Steve Flood, of Sydney, taking on Jac and Shaz.
In a high quality semi-final, Jac and Shaz won the judges over with their main course of smoked duck with fennel puree and cranberry sauce, scoring a total of 49/60 for their three-course meal, defeating WA work mates Eva and Debra by 5 points.
Their entrée of chicken livers with port and prosciutto was a hit with the judges and then their dessert of lime and coconut sorbet with pineapple and meringue topped off a magical night.
Parties were held across Mount Isa as supporters gathered to cheer on Jac and Shaz in the final.
The winner of My Kitchen Rules Season 6 will walk away with $250,000 in prizemoney.
Overwhelmed by their victory, Shaz simply said: “We’re just Jac and Shaz. Mount Isa always looks after its own so hopefully they’re cheering for us.”
Will and Steve, their combatants for the grand final, scored 48 during their winning semi-final to present a classic grand final of country versus city.
