The gala will be held at a location on the Mount Isa Mines lease.
The loader is the new addition to the mine’s underground fleet and the successful bidder will have their name or company logo on the machine.
It will also be given an appropriate name before it is used at George Fisher.
There are eight other raffle prizes on offer during the gala night which includes a Harvey World Travel, BCF and Sanctum Medispa Retreat vouchers.
Businesses across the community including Mount Isa Mines have donated the prizes.
George Fisher Mine’s Engineering and Assets manager Anthony Green said all the funds from the ticket sales, sponsorship, auction and raffles will be donated.
The funds will be given to the National Breast Cancer Foundation and the North West Queensland Breast Cancer Support Group.
“As a mining operation, it’s not every day we get the chance to step outside our core business and make a real, lasting impact on a cause that means so much to so many people, not only in our community but all over the country,” Mr Green said.
“We know breast cancer is the most common life-threatening cancer facing women in Australia and that one in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime.
“These statistics are alarming and a breast cancer diagnosis can be devastating for women and families, and even more so for those facing the added challenges of accessing treatment in rural and remote communities.”
Mr Green said the mine was proud to raise funds for the foundation and the local breast cancer support group.
He said the support group’s volunteers worked hard to support patients, survivors and their families in the north west region.
Attendees have been given a seat in buses which leave from the Mount Isa Civic Centre. Details regarding bus departure times have been emailed to guests. Personal travel to George Fisher is not possible due to it being an operational mine site.
