“I was hoping to do better, I aimed to win it not to come second,” Ms Slade told the North West Star on Sunday.
“But I’m happy with the effort I’ve put in, I did everything I could to be competitive except go negative, I kept it positive and that might have been to my detriment in the end.”
Ms Slade said it was a huge relief Labor looked like retaining power and she keep the pressure up locally.
“I’ve learned a lot and as the weeks went on I learned more,” she said.
“I got more passionate as I got around the communities and found out what the issues are.”
While Ms Slade would not commit to standing again, she said she wanted to “keep going”.
“I’m not going anywhere – there’s a lot of issues that have been brought to the table,” she said.
“And I’m going to keep pushing those issues under Rob Katter’s nose and keep reminding him he needs to fix these things.”
Ms Slade has 19.2% of the vote in Traeger which has her in second place.
