The celebrations commence with the Rodeo Soundcheck on Thursday morning at Buchanan Park.
It is the first time the Mount Isa Rotary Rodeo have commenced the program on a Thursday.
Mount Isa Mines Rotary Rodeo General Manager Natalie Flecker said the program change is to acknowledge the Rodeo’s history.
“It’s also finish the rodeo events early on Sunday so we can celebrate with our 60th Rodeo Rock Concert,” Ms Flecker said.
There will be announcers and events happening in the rodeo arena, and within the rodeo grounds there will food and apparel market stalls.
“The stalls will be selling western clothing, handbags, Akubra’s; there’ll be the saddle shop and a lot of new stalls as well because it's the 60th birthday bash,” Ms Flecker said.
Throughout the days and evenings from Friday through to Sunday the action packed thrills will roll out as usual.
“The rodeo program will finish at 3pm Sunday this year to allow enough time to build the stage in the centre of the arena for the Rodeo Rock Concert.”
“Everyone will be asked to leave the arena so we can start to build the stage. There will still be things happening around the arena to fill in that time though.
“Then ensure you have your ticket because when the gates reopen the 3-hour rock concert will commence,” she said.
Fireworks will end the celebration of this years rodeo.
“We have held the general admission price of $40 for entry on Friday for the fifth year in a row, Saturday is now $50 because its a full day of events and you're sure to get value for money,” Ms Flecker said.
The program starts at 9am on Saturday and ends with the recent CMC award winners Travis Collins and The Clymonts performing on Saturday evening.
“The reflection of the increase of $10 for the Saturday program is still value for money because the line-up is exceptional,” she said.
Ms Flecker said the platinum experience for die-hard rodeo goers had sold out.
“The gold seating experience is still available but selling out fast.”
The price of a ticket to the Rock Concert is only $49.
There will be standing room in front of the stage and general admission seats.
“Forty-nine dollars is exceptional value to see the Rodeo Rock Concert.”
“The lineup for the Rodeo Rock concert is incredible with Jimmy Barnes, The Wolf Brothers, James Blundell, Tania Kernaghan, Brewn and Dee Jaye Bux, while over the weekend we have Shannon Noll, The Viper Creek Band, The McClymonts and Travis Collins,” Ms Flecker said.
