She chose to raise funds for the Cancer Care Unit at Mount Isa Hospital.
Ms Myers said she has seen firsthand the care that is provided at the Cancer Care Unit.
“It’s a huge privilege to raise funds for the Unit,” Ms Myers said.
With nine months of fundraising to go, Ms Myers is finding it quite busy but very enjoyable.
She runs a small business called Salon Bronze, and has two children aged seven and 11.
“Sometimes I feel like I need to be cloned.”
Ms Myers said she has a good crew of helpers.
“The support from the community has been almost overwhelming,” she said.
“Businesses have been amazing with their support and donations.”
On Saturday December 15, Ms Myers is hosting a four course Christmas Dinner at Terrace Gardens, with limited seats left, tickets are selling fast.
