A 35 year old Garbutt man was charged in relation to two attempted burglaries in Menzies and Pioneer, on Wednesday December 26, 2018.

At around 1.40pm, a man attended a Sutton Street address in a vehicle and attempted to gain entry to the front door of the house, using an assortment of keys. The home owner has disturbed a man, who has then left the address in this vehicle.
At around 1.50pm, it is alleged the same man has attended a Joyce Street address in this vehicle and attempted to gain entry to the front door of the house, using the same assortment of keys. The man was disturbed by neighbours and has left the address in this same vehicle.
At around 1.55pm, this man was allegedly intercepted on Flynn Street for the purpose of an RBT. Officers reasonably suspected he may have been under the influence of dangerous drugs.
Officers searched the man and allegedly located a a clip seal bag containing some crystals, believed to be methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA) also known as ecstasy and a used glass pipe. A search of the vehicle located a set of knuckle dusters, a second used glass pipe and 3 sets of key rings.
The man was transported to the Mount Isa Base Hospital for a blood analysis, which he refused to provide on requirement.
The man was charged with 2 counts of attempted enter dwelling with intent, possess dangerous drugs, possess utensil, unlawful possession of category M weapon, unlawful possession of suspected stolen property and fail to provide specimen of blood on requirement.
The man is remanded in custody and will appear in Mount Isa Magistrates Court on January 14.
