A mum to four adult children, "Narnie" to six grandchildren, a wife, small business owner, retired teacher and retired truck driver; Ms Bertuch currently resides in Edmonton.
Having lived in the Kennedy electorate with her family for more than 30 years, Mrs Bertuch said she now wanted to do her best to represent the Kennedy electorate.
"I'm excited to be part of the United Australia Party who consist of real life people, teachers, small business owners and workers who maintain their attachment to the area," Mrs Bertuch said.
"I know the demographics of the electorate is the size of Victoria, it is huge, so there is a lot of ground to cover. But over the years I have watched as promises have been made to various communities with very little coming out of them.
"As a small business owner, our trucking business truck and Us P/l, I found it very frustrating having to pay out Provisional Tax on my projected sales or income when I could have been utilising this money to grow. The UAP want a fairer, simpler system so every Australian has a fair go."
Mrs Bertuch said through UAP she was behind giving a 20 percent tax break for all those who live and work outside a 200 kilometre radius of the state capital.
"This encourages people to move out of the big cities and into the regional areas, where over 85 percent of the Australian wealth is created," she said.
The Federal Leader of the United Australia Party, Clive Palmer, said his party had heard Australians were sick of the same-old, same-old from Liberal and Labor.
“For the first time Australia has real choice instead of the duopoly that Liberal and Labor have created by voting together to keep other alternatives out of the Federal parliament," Mr Palmer said
“The established parties talk about helping the country but all they’ve ever done is stifle political alternatives.
“Unlike them, the United Australia Party is not comprised of career politicians. We are a party made up of genuine Australians who want to serve the country, to change the course of history and steer in a bright new era for Australia."
Ms Bertuch will travel to Charters Towers, Richmond, Cloncurry and Mount Isa between Tuesday March 26-28 and hopes to talk to as many locals about any federal issues they may have.
