There were six candidates on the ballot drawn in the order 1 Sue Bertuch (UAP) 2 Bob Katter (KAP) 3 Lyle Burness (Greens) 4 Ian Hackwell (Fraser Annings' Conservative National Party) 5 Frank Beveridge (LNP) and 6 Brett McGuire (ALP).
Bob Katter is seeking his 10th term as the member for Kennedy. His main challengers are former Charters Towers mayor Frank Beveridge running for the LNP and fellow Charters Towers-based mining electrician Brett McGuire running for Labor.
The Greens candidate is Lyle Burness from the Atherton tablelands.
Sue Bertuch from the Cairns suburb of Edmonton is running for Clive Palmer's United Australia Party while the Fraser Anning candidate Ian Hackwell is from Lockyer Valley.
Pre-polling opens at the Mount Isa AEC office 119 Camooweal St on Monday 8.30am.
The election is on May 18.
