Relocating from Cooktown to Mount Isa in January, Katrina Seng has had time to settle into stack-city life and is ready to build relationships with her co-workers and service providers in town.
"Despite being a manager my role is all about supporting the RFDS staff, sos they can get out and do their job," Ms Seng said.
"My position is about looking after all the staff here on the ground which includes clinical and operational.
"So this includes all elements of the clinic staff working and supported and making sure operationally that things are moving forward."
After working as a nurse and midwife in Cooktown, Ms Seng said her new role was not too different.
"I used to look after a multidisciplinary team and midwifes," she said.
"So this role is similar in the sense that there are a lot of different professions that feed into one spot and making sure everything works for them so they can do their job."
Ms Seng and her family plan to stay in Mount Isa for a few years and look forward to getting involved in the local community.
Ms Seng is one of two new employees with RFDS, also welcoming senior base pilot David Keavy.
