Works will include installing automatic water meters in Mount Isa, upgrading the Bedourie town bore in Diamantina, a new civic centre in Mornington Shire, and a new reservoir in Hughenden, made possible through the Queensland Government's 2019-21 Local Government Grants and Subsidies Program.
Local Government Minister Stirling Hinchliffe congratulated the councils on their successful projects.
"I applaud the councils and their initiative in recognising the need for these projects as well as securing the funding to help deliver them," Mr Hinchliffe said.
"This will help creating jobs, retaining and growing a population base and generating business confidence to invest locally."
Mount Isa City Council Mayor Joyce McCulloch says the Local Government Grants and Subsidies Program has been invaluable in assisting Council to improve public amenities.
"To have this assistance from the State Government was very welcome," Cr McCulloch said.
"We are happy the program once again has a two-year timeframe to help the council budget efficiently and stretch the funding further."
