Sale fares are available from Mount Isa across a number of travel periods from August 2019 through to late March 2020, including: Mount Isa to Brisbane from $219 one-way, Mount Isa to Melbourne from $319 one-way, Mount Isa to Sydney from $299 one-way.

These fares are available to book until July 29 via qantas.com or through travel agents.

Eligible residents in Mount Isa can also access year-round savings through Qantas' discounted fares program, offering discounts of between 20 to 30 per cent off return flights to Brisbane.

Qantas also recently removed the $99 flight change fee for bookings made through the discounted fares program.

Qantas Executive Manager Sales & Distribution, Igor Kwiatkowski said sales like this one and the discounted fares program, were designed to make air travel more accessible for residents living in regional Australia.

"Whether you're planning your next holiday to Sydney, or need to visit family, residents have the option to book early with a sale fare this week or access a resident fare for a return flight to Brisbane," Mr Kwiatkowski said.

"We've seen a strong uptake since we launched our resident fares but we'd like to see even more people take advantage of the savings. The discounts are not available with any other airline and booking through our program is the best way for residents to get the lowest possible fare year-round."
