Members of the Queensland Police Service (QPS), Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) and Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) were on hand to offer advice and information on how to choose the most suitable child restraint for your child and how to correctly use it.
Knowing which type of child restraint is appropriate and how to use it properly, can be the difference between no to minor injuries and severe or life threatening injuries to your child.
Thank you to those parents who took the opportunity to come down and have their car seat positioning checked, to ensure their little ones' safety.
Mornington Island officers visited with students of Mornington Island State School on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday to educate them on a different aspect of road safety.

A small group started off from the Normanton Police Station at 7.30am, biking a route all around town and collecting students along the way.
Students demonstrated a great knowledge of bike safety, all wearing their helmets and following the road rules wonderfully.
The whole school was then provided a breakfast courtesy of the Normanton Police, Tablelands Fresh Produce, Normanton Traders and the Stop Shop.
Mount Isa's 'Drink Rite' event was held at The Buffs Club.
Hosted by Road Policing Unit officers, Constable Paul Quinlan and Constable Jack Casey, participants were surprised to learn the difference between what legally constitutes a standard drink and what they personally believed constituted one.
Participants then had the opportunity to drink alcohol and be breath tested by a police officer during a two hour period.
Officers discussed results of the participants' breath alcohol concentration testing and provided information on alcohol consumption, standard drinks and drink driving.
Mount Isa Police District wish to thank all event attendees for their participation and for their interest in learning how to keep all road users safe.
