On Tuesday, Natural Resources Minister Dr Anthony Lynham announced Lisa Clancy, Danielle Slade and Karen Read as new members with current Board chair Steve de Kruijff reappointed for a further three years.
"The mix of local knowledge, business and water management expertise provided by these new members will further strengthen the governance of MIWB as it continues to support a safe, reliable and efficient water services to the region,'' Dr Lynham said.
"MIWB is trustee for the city's largest water and recreation reserve, Lake Moondarra, which provides sanctuary for wildlife and a popular leisure and water sport venue for the people of Mount Isa, and also is responsible for the supply of bulk water to industrial customers and drinking water to Mount Isa City Council.''
Ms Clancy is a director of the family-run Clancy Corporation with strong experience in Workplace Health and Safety, Ms Slade has been active in the local community for more than 25 years running for Labor in the last state election and Ms Read is a former mining executive and returning director, having previously served on the board for 10 years.
"I congratulate Mr de Kruijff and the new board members on their appointments and I look forward to working with them to deliver a secure water supply to the Mount Isa region," Dr Lynham said.
Established in 1973, the MIWB is a registered water service provider, established as a Category 1 Water Authority under the Water Act 2000.

Mr Steve de Kruijff - Director and Chairman (new 3-year appointment)
Mr Steve de Kruijff was Chief Operating Officer of North Queensland Copper Division at Mount Isa (Xstrata Copper) from 2006 to 2013 and rose to General Manager of McArthur River and Ernest Henry Mines, among others, during his 43-year career at Glencore-MIM. He is a past President of the Queensland Resources Council and retired director of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy. He was awarded an OAM in the 2016 Australia Day Honours List for his contribution to the mining industry and communities.
Ms Lisa Clancy - Director (new 3-year appointment)
Ms Lisa Clancy has lived and worked in Mount Isa since 1998, holding payroll, office administration and Workplace Health and Safety Roles for Education Queensland for eight years. Ms Clancy is a director and office manager of Clancy Corporation in Mount Isa and has extensive leadership, team management skills, as well as close links in the community and with government agencies and private business providers.
Ms Danielle Slade - Director (new 3-year appointment)
Ms Danielle Slade is a long-term Mount Isa resident, who worked at Mount Isa Mines for more than 25 years in administrative support, community relations, and training and safety support roles. She is an executive board member of the Mount Isa Irish Association and has been involved in charity work as well as being prominent in sports administration (soccer, squash and volleyball) for the past 30 years. Ms Slade has a keen interest in sustainable development in North-West regional Queensland.
Ms Karen Read - Director (new 2-year appointment)
Ms Read is an experienced board director, providing oversight, governance and strategic direction to the mutual customer-owned bank, Queensland Country Credit Union, and the Queensland Country Health Fund. Ms Read is the MIWB's independent Chair of the Finance, Audit and Compliance Committee, and was formerly a director of MIWB from September 2004 to June 2014. Ms Read is a senior finance and commercial executive with extensive experience in the mining and resources sector and is a member of the Independent Audit Committee for the North West Hospital & Health.
