Residents were urged to take care while driving around the Mount Isa area after a complete power outage has taken out all traffic lights.
The power went out around 8:50am on Tuesday November 5, with traffic lights, business and residential properties being affected.
More than 8700 customers were affected when circuit breakers tripped after crews had removed one of two power transformers at the Duchess Road zone substation for maintenance.
Ergon Energy confirmed there was no link between the unplanned outage affecting Mount Isa and the planned outage affecting Soldiers Hill.
Power is now back online for Mount Isa.
