Families of all shapes and sizes met at the Cloncurry Precinct to celebrate.
The local Lions Club cooked the free barbeque while the crowd enjoyed Christmas carols led by the Cloncurry Carolers.
After dinner kids lined up to put in their gift requests with Santa and have their photo taken, but not before having their faces painted by some of our council staff.
Mayor Greg Campbell said it was fantastic to see so many families attend the barbecue and participate in the festivities.
"It great to be able to offer families in our community a visit from Santa - being so far from a major shopping centre where they can usually visit Santa and have their photo taken," Cr Campbell said.
"We offer them that for free in a great environment".
Cloncurry Shire Council said Glencore were huge supporters of the Cloncurry community providing jobs and growth for the region so it's a perfect fit to have them involved in the Christmas celebrations.
