With a due date in April, the couple are busy preparing for parenthood and raising their child in Mount Isa.
Mr Katter said he and Daisy were very excited to announce their big news.
"We are overjoyed about raising a child here in the North West," he said.
"We don't know if it is a boy or a girl and providing there are no complications, Daisy will have the baby at Mount Isa Hospital."
Daisy and Mr Katter have also been busy shortlisting names, with the traditional Robert Katter a possibility if it is a boy.
"We have a few names in mind," Mr Katter said.
"I am not bound by tradition but it's hard not to think of Robert Katter as an option. Daisy has a name picked if it is a girl but who knows.
"A few people have said to me that you need to wait until you're looking at baby to know the name."
Mr Katter said this was not much different to what other people go through, but it was big for him.
"I've been a slow starter to this, I am now 42 and having my first child," he said.
"Like most blokes, the thought of becoming a dad hasn't really kicked in yet, but I gather it will become more real as it gets closer to the time.
"I have visited friends over the years after they have had kids and they look like they have done a couple of rounds with Mike Tyson, so I know it will change things a fair bit."
Mr Katter said Daisy was handling pregnancy well and was witnessing all the normal pregnancy challenges.
"Daisy has been pretty good, she had morning sickness but it has now passed and into the second trimester," he said.
"I think she is trying to get to the town pool a bit and I think that is relaxing for her. We have also been reading up on baby books and working with the midwives here at the hospital and learning about the whole process."
In 2020, Mr Katter will also face the state election but said he wants to spend a lot of time with Daisy and the new baby whilst having those work commitments.
Daisy and Robbie were married in Brisbane over two years ago.
